Author Sharon Merz

A life-long lover of books, Sharon Merz never expected to be writing one. Her intrigue with the written word led to a bachelor’s degree in journalism and decades of working as a newspaper reporter. While that career was a good fit, Sharon found her greatest fulfillment when she began writing devotions based on Scriptures. Seeing messages and reminders from God in everyday life, she developed a mindset of “thinking devotionally” and has an extensive collection of ideas. Sharon has lived her life in the Midwest and has a recipe collection nearly as extensive as the devotion ideas she continues to accumulate. Cooking and taking walks are two of her favorite pastimes as she enjoys life with her husband, Dave. A favorite quote comes from prolific author Henri J. Nouwen: “Writing is a process in which we discover what lives in us.”
